People Need The Lord

Matthew 5:15-16King James Version (KJV)

15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

In today’s world, it seems as though God has  been placed on a back burner, or perhaps even further away, like in the  freezer!  People don’t seem to either know or care what is Biblically, or even morally correct.  Look around you the next time you go  out in a public place. You don’t have to look very far to see  immodesty of dress,   inappropriate relationships, inappropriate actions, or hear inappropriate language ………….all this happening today in a world where wrong seems right

We, as Christians, need to be a light to those around us. We will be known by our words and our actions. I was once told,” it is easy for you to witness to others and to talk to others, you work. When you no longer work, let’s see how easy it is for you to witness to others then.”  Though I no longer am employed, I have found it  extremely easy to witness, because my daily walk in  life is my witness and testimony for the Lord. It is who I am in Him.

Witnessing is so much more than handing out a track, and telling someone about Jesus, and the price He paid for us. It is about being a living testimony as to what He has done in us and  for us. It is  about giving of ourselves, in little ways, perhaps helping someone carry in and/or  put away their groceries, picking up something someone has dropped and handing it back to them,  even as simple as holding the door for someone. Or it could be more extensive, such as mowing lawn for a widower, changing a tire for someone, taking a cake or a meal to a family, or any other such gestures of kindness.

Simply saying a kind word to someone who is obviously having a rough day, or praying with someone, can be a tremendous witness. Go ahead and hand out that track,  but, go the next step further. Pray for the person you gave it to. When you meet them the next time, inquire as to how they are doing, and Listen, I mean really listen to what they are telling you…………..it may be your invitation to initiate a conversation with them about the Lord.

We are living in a day and time where people need the Lord more than ever before. People are hurting, crying out for help. Yes, People Need the Lord.
